PVDF membrane (polyvinylidene fluoride) is a solid support commonly used in western blotting. PVDF membranes are hydrophobic, with different membrane pore sizes. As the membrane pore size decreases, the membrane will bind more strongly to low molecular weight proteins. For proteins larger than 20,000, a 0.45um membrane is used, and for proteins smaller than 20,000, a 0.2um membrane is used. PVDF membrane requires pretreatment when used. The purpose of treatment with methanol is to activate the positively charged groups on the membrane, making it easier to bind with negatively charged proteins. PVDF membrane has high mechanical strength and is an ideal solid support material in the imprinting method.
Material characteristics:
The membrane material used in membrane structure construction is a kind of membrane material with strength and flexibility. It is a material made of fibers woven into a fabric substrate and processed with resin as coating material on both sides of the substrate. The center fabric substrate is divided into polyester fiber and glass fiber. Mechanically, the fabric substrate and coating material have the following functional properties. The fabric substrate has tensile strength, tear resistance, heat resistance, durability, and fire resistance. The coating material has weather resistance, stain resistance, water resistance, and light transmission.
PVDF coatings are mainly polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resins. The weight of different coatings should be between 400 and 1500 g / m2 according to functional requirements. The surface layer should be selected from PVDF and polypropylene resins (ACRYLIC). ), Silicone resin, etc., have the function of improving the self-cleaning and anti-aging properties of PVC film materials. The thickness of PVC film material is 0.5-1.3mm. The surface layer should have stable anti-corrosion, anti-ultraviolet erosion ability and self-cleaning performance during the shelf life.
Pvdf film has the advantages of high thermal softness, non-rupture, high cost performance, short production cycle and fast construction speed. In recent years, through continuous improvement of technology and materials, its weather resistance and anti-fouling properties have been further improved. The durability of pvdf membranes with high self-cleaning properties can reach more than 15 years. This material is currently the most widely used membrane material in China.
