Today we will discuss the structural nodes of the membrane structure carport. When designing the joints of the membrane structure carport, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the requirements of structure, structure, construction tension and so on. It is necessary to comply with the common rules of common steel structure joint design, but also to consider the detailed characteristics of the construction method and the materials used.



(1) Structural strength requirements
The joints themselves should have sufficient strength, rigidity and invariance to ensure that they can reliably transmit loads under various working conditions without destroying the main data and components.
(2) Ability to adapt to large structural deformation
Membrane structure construction is prone to large deformation and vibration under the effect of wind load. Nodes and connections should have certain sensitivity and freedom to release the effect of additional stress excited by large deformation.



(3) Waterproof and anticorrosive treatment of nodes
The node parts of the membrane structure are mostly exposed to natural conditions and are prone to rust; node rust will not only reduce the strength of the node itself, but the flow of rust water will also cause secondary pollution to the membrane surface. Therefore, stainless steel or aluminum materials should be selected for the data of the joints, and the steel components must be galvanized or painted. In addition, the membrane node should also have superior waterproof function. If necessary, a layer of masking film can be added on the node or an aluminum alloy cover can be used for waterproofing.
(4) Prevent the membrane material from showing stress concentration
The membrane material is very thin and sensitive to defects. The joint design should prevent stress concentration at the junction of the membrane material and the rigid member. The steel members at the joints must not have sharp points or sharp angles; membrane gaskets should be provided at the contact surfaces; when necessary, the membrane materials adjacent to the nodes should be partially reinforced.



(5) Construction tension requirements
The design of the joint should fully consider the factors such as the initial pre-tension application method and the position of the detailed application point to ensure that the node at the application point has high strength and rigidity and is convenient for the operation of the force application machine. The joint design should also consider the deflection of the structural device and the possibility of secondary tension, leaving a margin for adjustment.
(6) Construction logic and artistic display
The node stress diagram of the membrane structure is simple and light, which can fully show the logic and artistic display of the connotation of the structure. The node structure should be able to clearly express the power transmission path in the structure, and conform to the structural accounting assumptions. When multiple components are connected to a unified node, it should be ensured that the internal forces of each component converge at one point to prevent the introduction of unnecessary bending or changing stress.
