Today I want to have a special date with you all. The picture turns to London. The editor will take everyone to the London Woolwich District Olympic Film Shooting Range to appreciate the beauty there. We are here for the membrane structure shooting range!
The Olympic Membrane Shooting Range in Woolwich, southeast London will host the 10m, 25m, and 50m shooting competitions for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. These three temporary movable buildings will be demolished after the game and will be rebuilt for use at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.
The focus of the design of the shooting range is to express the dynamics and precision of this movement through a dynamic arc space. The white membrane material skin is dotted with colorful openings. These openings are nodes, which can also dissolve wind pressure and ventilate the site, and some act as the exit of the site. The fresh appearance enhances the festive atmosphere of the Olympic Games.
The venue is located at the Royal Artillery Camp. More than 100,000 spectators will come to watch during the game. Three buildings will show their contemporary architectural expressions here. At the same time, these three buildings attach great importance to sustainable development, and all materials can be reused. The design allows the three venues to be moved and reorganized, so no adhesive is used. The translucent exterior wall reduces the need for artificial lighting, while the elbow design achieves complete natural ventilation. This is a modular and efficient tensile membrane building.
