In fact, Xiaobian shows that the membrane structure is not comprehensive about the tearing performance of the membrane structure. Today I took this opportunity to show Xiaobian and everyone to learn about the tearing performance of the membrane structure.
For tensile structures, the damage they suffer in tearing is more severe than the damage caused by stretching, so the tear strength and tear resistance of the material are very important. PVC-coated polyester filament fabrics have medium tear strength, and PTFE-coated glass fiber materials have higher tear strength. The tear strength of the reinforced coated fabric is lower than the above two materials, and the tear strength of the coated fabric is the lowest.
During the structural installation of all coated fabrics, their curled molecular chains are extended, and the extent of the fabric in the weft direction is greater than the warp direction. These values must be well grasped, which is the basis for the pre-shrinking of the film cutting. These data are usually available from the material manufacturer.
The tensile strength, that is, the ability to resist loading, must be high enough. In general, the tensile strength of PVC-coated polyester filaments and PTFE-coated glass fiber materials can reach more than 10 ton-force / meter. The higher the modulus, the easier the film will be cut and shaped and pre-tensioned. Polyester filament fabrics have a medium modulus and are easy to use. Its elongation is not a problem from the positioning of structural boundary points, unless a large amount of snow load is applied to it. Glass fiber fabric has a very high modulus. If the membrane structure and the structure of the carport do not match, the tensile (or installation) curvature of the membrane material will be very dangerous.
