The biggest features of PTFE architectural membrane are: light weight, high strength, fire resistance, non-flammable, good self-cleaning, not affected by UV, anti-fatigue, anti-torsion, anti-aging, long service life. It has high light transmittance and little heat absorption.
Why choose a PTFE membrane? There are many reasons, let's take a look together.
First, it has high strength. The thickness of the medium-strength PTFE film is only 0.8mm, but its tensile strength has reached the level of steel, and its elastic modulus is low, which is conducive to the formation of complex curved shapes of the film material;
Second, it is light in weight and its weight is only a small part of traditional building materials (approximately 1/30 of the weight of previous steel ceilings).
Third, it has stable chemical properties and can withstand all the effects of strong acids including aqua regia, strong oxidants, reducing agents, and various organic solvents except molten alkali metals, fluorinated media, and sodium hydroxide above 300 ° C.
Fourth, high self-cleaning, PTFE has non-adhesiveness, water resistance and other characteristics. Dust and dirt accumulated on the surface will be cleaned after being washed by rain, thereby maintaining long-lasting whiteness.
Fifth, large-span, PTFE membrane structure buildings generally do not need internal supports to cover a large space with membranes, and can be freely designed and utilized in diverse spaces.
Sixth, light transmittance. The transmittance of the PTFE film is about 13%. The light inside the building is soft and bright, making it unnecessary to use artificial lighting in the station during the day. This also greatly saves energy consumption, saves energy and protects the environment.
Seventh, the service life is long, the PTFE membrane has strong anti-aging ability, good durability, fire resistance, non-flammability, good self-cleaning, and is not affected by ultraviolet light, and its service life can reach more than 25 years.
