I. Structural strength requirements
The joint joint itself should have sufficient strength, stiffness and invariance to ensure that it can reliably transfer the load under various working conditions without destroying the main data and components.
Second, the ability to adapt to large structural deformation
Membrane structure construction is prone to large deformation and vibration under the effect of wind load, and the nodes and connections should have a certain sensitivity and freedom to release the effect of additional stress caused by large deformation.
3. Waterproof and anticorrosive treatment of nodes
Most of the node components of the membrane structure are exposed in natural conditions and are susceptible to rust; rusting of the nodes will not only reduce the strength of the nodes themselves, but the flow of rust water will also cause secondary pollution to the membrane surface. Therefore, the materials of node joints should be selected from stainless steel or aluminum, and the steel components must be galvanized or painted. In addition, the membrane node should also have a superior waterproof function. When needed, a layer of masking film can be added on the node or an aluminum alloy cover is used for waterproofing.
Fourth, prevent the membrane from showing stress concentration
The membrane is thin and sensitive to defects. The joint design should prevent stress concentration at the interface between the membrane and the rigid member. The steel members at the joints must not have sharp points or acute angles; a membrane gasket should be provided at the contact surface; if necessary, the membrane material adjacent to the node should also be partially reinforced.
Fifth, construction tension requirements
The design of the joint should fully consider the factors such as the initial pretension application method and the position of the detailed application point. The joint at the application point should have high strength, stiffness and facilitate the operation of the application equipment. The joint design should also consider the ability of the structural device to be biased and the secondary tension, leaving a conditioning margin.
Construction logic and artistic display
The node stress diagram of the membrane structure is simple and light, which can fully display the logic and artistic display of the connotation of the structure. The joint structure should be able to clearly express the road of force transmission in the structure, and conform to the structural accounting assumptions. When multiple members are connected to a unified node, it should be ensured that the internal forces of the members converge at one point to prevent unnecessary bending or changing stress. Attention should be paid to the results of the nodes. Circular transitions should be used wherever the membrane is connected to the rigid gap or nodes to prevent stress concentration and give a soft impression visually.
